April-June Programming

Walking with the Wise 

This program is for those 55 and over. Join us and your fellow neighbors for various activities. April 5, 11:30am lunch at Resurrection Life Church; April 26, Indoor Gardening; Starting May 18 at 11:00 am (6 weeks) Cooking Class; June 15, 2:00pm Oral Health class.


Exciting Summer Camps starting  June 29 for 6 weeks!

Career Camp for Youth! Meet people with exciting jobs! Learn how you can have these jobs. Career paths: Web development, Social Media Marketing, Statistics and Research, Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant. All Health Matters Camp for Youth! Learn how to make healthy choices for your mind and body. Youth will engage in physical activities, nutrition activities, sports activities, cooking activities, gardening activities and more!  These tips and tricks will help you feel great and live well! YMCA Summer Fun Club Field trips, gardening, physical activity, arts and crafts and new friends!


The Bridge   

A holistic after school program for youth. Students will be engaged in activities that mirror the scope of wellness – social, physical, cognitive, emotional, environmental, occupational and spiritual wellness. We can pick students up from Potter’s House and Caesar Chavez. Any student enrolled in school can register! Monday -Friday 3:30PM-6:00PM.


TRUTH Programming

A program to engage students in 3rd – 6th grade in life skills and spirituality from a holistic approach. Every Wednesday 4PM-6PM during the school year.


Oral Health Class presented in partnership with HealthNet of West Michigan

FREE dental kit! Learn tips and demonstrations for: Brushing, Flossing and Rinsing. Ask questions and learn about Oral conditions like – dry mouth and diabetes; Caring for dentures; Tips on staying healthy, and Community dental resources. Be ready for the dentist! June 15th at 2:00pm.


Cooking Class with the YMCA

Cooking with healthy foods with the hint of all the Latin flavors. Class starts May 18th at 11:00.


Bootcamp with the YMCA

Bootcamp is a class that uses body weight, cardio and appropriate hand held weights to increase strength and endurance. This is a fun, up-beat class with music to help keep you engaged.  This class is held every Tuesday 6:30PM-7:30PM


Zumba with “Puente” Program

Zumba takes you on a dance adventure mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves to provide an interval-style calorie burning exercise. Monday & Thursday at 6:30pm; Friday’s at noon.


Rain Barrel Workshops in Partnership West Michigan Environmental Action Council (WMEAC)

Rain barrels have been proven an effective and easy strategy for managing community storm water and improving water quality. For this rain barrel workshop we need 10 or more students. This will be held in the Spring or Summer.


Native Plant Education for Adults/Families in Partnership with WMEAC

Learn how to care for the plants in your nearby parks or install native plants in your own yard. For this workshop we need 10 more students.  This will be held in the Spring or Summer.


In Partnership with UCOM Financial Skills/Financial Literacy Class

If you are working towards getting financially healthy register for this class! Learn community resources, budgeting, and steps it takes to open an account or apply for a loan. Learn how to manage financial situations in life. We welcome many students! Class starts in May!


Legal Service provided through partnerships with local lawyers

Do you need to ask a lawyer a question? The lawyer can provide you with a first time FREE consultation that takes place right here in Roosevelt Park. Attorneys are here twice a month from 5PM-6-15PM. Consultations are 15 min each.  Call to make an appointment!!


ESL Classes   

Need to learn English?   We have a wonderful ESL program led by skilled volunteers. The majority of our volunteer staff is bilingual. Classes are Mon-Thurs, morning, afternoon, and evening. We also offer ESL tutoring.


Spanish Class

This class is for those interested in learning Spanish for home, work, or to serve in community. Classes are held every Thursday at 11:15am.  


VITA Taxes

Free tax preparation for those that need taxes filed. This program runs year round for those needing to file late in the current tax year, file amendments or file taxes for previous years.


Community Meal

We want to support the strong families’ in and around our neighborhood! Come gather for a community meal with us! Build strong relationships, celebrate inclusion, and get to know your neighbors. All families’ and community members welcome! Next meal in May!


Bible Study

Join RPM for a bible study. Light refreshments and coffee, tea or water will be provided. Wednesday’s 6:30pm to 7:30pm.


Employment Skills Workshop Education

A series to help individuals build a resume, skills for completing an application, how to dress for success, and prepare for an interview. April 11th 11AM-12PM for four weeks.
