It did for Kevin!
The Coat Drive had gone well. It was near the end of the day and the supply of coats was quite diminished. Ten-year-old Kevin came in with his family and began searching for a coat. When he found one that fit, he began proudly modeling it for me. “Is it true,” he asked, “that we don’t have to pay for these coats?”
“Yes, it’s true,” I answered.
“How can you do that?”
“Well, there are people in many churches around here who give us the coats they don’t need anymore. They want you to be warm this winter.”
“Wow! That’s so nice of them! Please tell them ‘thanks’ for me!”
